"Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase." Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

We are one day away from our month-and-a-half long series of sermon exchanges, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Clergy in Charlotte have occasionally spoken at each others' houses of worship, on a limited basis, but through the efforts of Crossroads Charlotte and in partnership with Mecklenburg Ministries and Temple Beth El--for the first time this will be a citywide effort! Excitement is building!

Crossroads Correspondent Tonya Jameson recently spoke with Mecklenburg Ministries Executive Director Dr. Maria Hanlin and with Rabbi Judith Schindler of Temple Beth El about this upcoming event.

The sermons kick off at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, when Johnson C. Smith University President Dr. Ron Carter speaks at Temple Beth El’s Shabbat service. Senior Minister Rev. Michael McLean and the choir of the East Stonewall AME Zion Church will also participate in the Shabbat service.

Other exchanges have been scheduled, and more are in the works! For complete information about this series, and to see a schedule of all events, click HERE.
