These films can all be summarized the way: Imaginary stories and sympathetic characters provide the illusion that all apsects of contemporary life are bad and getting worse. However, the problems are not bad enough for the films to provide any statistical evidence about the extent or cause of any individual conflict. These films promote a liberal world view where there is no sense of responsibility or accountabilty. People are helpless victims and all problems can be solved with the appropriate level of compassion and government spending. A fresh persepective on possible solutions would be a more interesting topic than insipid films featuring infomerical storylines and bad actors.
