I don't need to wait 10 years, this is my neighborhood now. I have seen the 600+ homes in my westside neighborhood change dramatically in the past few years. Once a safe, family friendly community where everone owned and took pride in their homes. The adults worked together to offer the neighborhood a pool with a swim team, organized football, baseball and softball; a place where kids could walk to school or home from a friend's house without fear of being acousted or attacked. Now the sports are gone, the pool is a rundown shambles and the homes range from a few straggling aging owners from the old days to transient tennents of ramshackled rental houses whose inhabitants don't make eye contact for fear of drawing attention to themselves and their suspicious acitivites. I'm an optimist who believes that to everything there is a time and purpose under heaven. Now is the time to make a difference in our city!
