Looks very similar to where I'm from (Durham) except a bit more extreme, and with a look only at the negative aspects. It was interesting and the facts were sorta eye-opening, though I didn't think that they were shocking or unimaginable. Could have added more to the "plot line". My grandpa says "3 hots and a cot" all the time.

Write a ResponseI think that racial barriers are being broken down more now so than ever. I do agree that Charlotte cannot become a crime free city over night; however, I think that we need to get in the mindset of we can change Charlotte. An individual might not be able to by themselves, but I think we could make it a better city. I also think that the point was that in order to become this new Charlotte, we... read more
At first, I can't lie, I couldn't get my mind off the bad acting. The turning point for me in the story was when the vet said he would rather be in Iraq. To think situations here, in the US-the country he fought for, was worse than the middle east is unreal. I think of all the problems we have, homeless is ignored the most unless it invovles children. There are so many bad stereotypes... read more
This scenario is my favorite! Everyone seems happy and Charlotte appears to be doing very well! I hope to see the city this well connected and prosperous in the near future! I was also happy to see the ugly mother from the beat goes on being kinder to the housekeeper
The white mother in this story drives me absolutely crazy! She's so judgmental and mean to the house keeper of her office who is already going through so much, being homeless with a son! But then again, if you stop and think about it, how many times have you been rude or snappy with someone at their job as a cashier or waiter? Maybe we should stop and remember that we don't always know... read more
A Positive Possible Scenario. While the connection between races could be seen between some characters, such as the men on the steps discussing quotes, the news anchor also reports a separation. While the job market and education system prospers, I still think the citizens need to feel a sense of connection and trust when it comes to those around them. Most people in this segment seem to be... read more
This scenario is definitely the scariest one of the four, and is a possibility for the future of Charlotte, as well as other cities. If diverse people living in the same community don't work to understand and relate with one another how can a place function sufficiently? I think its all of our responsibilities to be open minded and considerate of others in order to insure a better future for... read more
I think although getting to this point would be difficult and we would have to overcome a lot of obstacles and make a lot of changes, it is definitely possible. To me trust is crucial to a successful relationship. Similarly, in the community trust between different races and religions or any difference is of great importance for a successful community.
This cideo points out two really important points to me. The pastor points out that we have to trust others in order to have other people trust us. Also, when the white mother does realize the cleaning lady has less than she does it humbles her a little it seems. Everyone has to keep in mind they're not the only one facing struggles.
I agree with all the other people who have responded, this near perfect situation will never be reached anywhere. No matter how hard the community as a whole tries there will always be crime and poverty.
