Its pity to note the only jobs that Charlotte was creating were white color jobs, which literally as the name suggest was meant for "whites". This had lead other communities pushed further away from the resources. That's why one family couldn't even afford public school while another think could get a quality education in public school and thus looking for private... read more

Write a ResponseHatred based on racism and hurt feeling has eat away the good intentions and bold effort that many Charlotte resident are trying to promote. People should note that human being should treat each other equally. I agree with Mr. Lewes that we better start talking to each other and more importantly listen to each other.
WoW. Charlotte in the year 2015 is scarey. A hire rate of gangs and shootings, and girls even being involved in it. It is really sad to watch a movie like this because the shelter was full, no jobs, no house, basically no food, and no money. Even the person who fought for our freedom in Iraq was being mistreated. I caught a couple quotes out of this story. A gentlemen stated, "What is... read more
Our commonality are much more that our differences. Lets share our commonality as a way of reducing fear and mistrust among ourselves. This will create confidence to approach our differences.
I don't want to relate crime with poverty but if you do by just counting number of poor in jails, then you are right. However remember among those prisoners are there because the couldn't either buy justice, or afford a lawyer. As the gap between those who have and those who have not widen its time to address the issue before it run out of hand. The better approach to my opinion is... read more
it would be great if Charlotte could overcome it's racial problems and in the future Charlotte would be just like this scenario.
I liked how the preacher was pointing out all the racial/cultural difference. He made a good point that if we can't trust our neighbors, who would want to trust us no matter who we are? I hope that change would come and Charlotte is not the same as it is today. I hope it is better and the racial/cultural tension is gone.
This is way too unrealistic. Charlotte can't be without any problems. I think that this will never happen. I agree with the fact that you can have changes and changes start with individuals but changes can't be made so that Charlotte is like a Utopian city.
It's crazy how much the crime rate could go up in just 10 years! At the beginning of this film security guards had to check elementary school kids for weapons with metal detectors. I hope that our soldiers that fight in Iraq today will not be mistreated in the future but instead honored and if things actually do get really bad in the future just like in this film, I hope that soldiers are... read more
In this particular film, I think it's very easy to villainize the single white mother. Even the actress who portrayed her said in a recent interview "I don't think she's aware. A lot of people are prejudiced in that way." When I watch it, however, I see a woman who is under a lot of stress. She is trying to hold on to her job in the face of company cut-backs, as... read more
